Slide-board lateral slide


The slide-board lateral slide is an excellent exercise to strengthen the muscles at the outside of the hip. These muscles stabilize the hip and knee.

The slide-board lateral slide promotes lateral change of direction strength and power.

Starting Position

Put on the slide-board shoes on both feet.

Stand on one end of the slide-board with the outside of the foot against the block.


Push off explosively and slide to the opposite side until the other foot hits the block.

Repeat for the prescribed number of repetitions or amount of time.

Coaching Keys

Push off with a powerfull extension of the hip, knee and ankle.

Perform a fluid skating motion. Do not pause when hitting the block.
